How I became a Dog walker & why I chose to start my company

One of my earliest jobs while I was in school was as a Kennel Assistant. Coincidentally, it was right here in my hometown of Harrison, at Best Friends Boarding and Veterinary, formerly known as Balmoral Kennel. My responsibilities included cleaning the kennels, scrubbing them down, washing bowls, and handling. I was also in charge of feeding and playtime for the pets, and from big dogs to small ones, I was equipped with all the necessary tools to care for them, which motivated me to pursue a career with animals.

As time went on ...

I later took a position at Petsmart, which provided me with valuable insights into pet care. My responsibilities included interacting with pet parents, scheduling appointments, and assisting them during checkouts. I shared my expertise to recommend the best nutrition plans for our companions. Additionally, I was responsible for hourly walks and supervising dog daycare, which involved observing the pets' behavior and monitoring their bathroom needs.

My most recent and fascinating role was as the Pet Parent Front Desk Manager at Dogtopia. This experience deepened my understanding of pet behavior, as we were trained to recognize dogs' physical and emotional states, whether stemming from stress, pain, anxiety, or excitement. It also enhanced my skills in managing multiple pups simultaneously and emphasized the importance of their overall well-being—both physical and emotional

With this background, I was driven to dedicate myself to our furry companions, believing that their happiness brings joy to the world. I wanted pet parents to feel confident knowing their dog walker not only possesses the experience but also genuinely cares about becoming a friend to their pets. This inspired me to establish my own business, ensuring I could provide what pet parents seek by hiring individuals with both professional and personal pet experience!
